The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) posted a set of SEVIS 5.8 Training Slides for J Exchange Visitor Programs, that show the new functionality that will be included in that release. SEVIS 5.8 is expected to be implemented on April 18, 2008.

The training slides show:
  • View event history for exchange visitors (EVs) and dependents
  • Capture J-1 & J-2 email addresses
  • Capture Student Employment information for college/university students
  • Capture Out of Country information for professor and research scholar EVs
  • Update RO and ARO titles
The changes in SEVIS functionality in SEVIS 5.8 are available in SEVIS RTI only. The Batch schema has not been updated to incorporate these changes.
