Tanya I. Garcia, PhD
Tanya I. Garcia is associate director of postsecondary policy research and associate research professor at the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce. She brings extensive higher education policy expertise to various projects, including sub-baccalaureate education, non-degree credentials, and supporting states integrating postsecondary and labor market data as a tool to improve policy and practice. Previously, she served in various capacities at Wiki Education Foundation, Lumina Foundation, the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association, and the New Mexico Higher Education Department. A first-generation student, Garcia earned a BA in philosophy and a BS in biology at Florida International University, a MA in higher education administration from the George Washington University, and a PhD in public administration at American University.
