Tamara Cunningham has been a transformational leader in higher education for more than 20 years, with 13 years focused on global education. As the inaugural assistant vice chancellor of global initiatives at the University of California-San Diego, Tamara is the lead architect for the institution’s comprehensive strategic internationalization plan. She is completing a doctorate in educational leadership at St. Peter’s University, and her dissertation centers on the democratization of global learning for underrepresented populations. She earned a master’s in communications and information studies from Rutgers University and a bachelor’s degree in English from New Jersey City University.
