Steven Hales

Steven Hales is the Dean of International Education for the Contra Costa Community College District. He has worked in international education as a teacher, teacher educator, and academic manager/administrator across three continents for 17 years. In addition to NAFSA, Steven has been involved with AIEA and AIRC. He has also published on public schooling in Brazil and teaching English as an international language, though his current scholarly interests center on the internationalization of higher education. On a personal note, Steven enjoys running & fitness, traveling, reading, movies, and training (and being humbled by) working dogs.
