Shanna Saubert, PhD
Shanna Saubert, PhD, serves as NAFSA's associate director of research and scholarship. Since joining the NAFSA professional staff in 2016, she leads NAFSA’s thought leadership and resource development for scholars and practitioners in international education and works in collaboration with the Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship Knowledge Community. She completed a masters in Recreation Administration at Indiana University Bloomington with quantitative research centered around international visitor experiences at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai before completing a PhD in International Education at the University of Leeds with mixed-methods research focused on international student experiences and student engagement issues.
Her experience includes data collection and analysis, information synthesis and reporting, professional editing, full-cycle program administration, event management, website and database creation, and training and resource development. She has written several articles and led events connecting research to practice in the field of international education and exchange.
