Sabine Klahr, EdD
Dr. Sabine Klahr is the Interim Vice Provost for Penn State Global, a comprehensive office leading and facilitating global engagement across all 24 campuses of The Pennsylvania State University. She first joined the office as Associate Vice Provost in July 2022.
Klahr has 25 years of experience advancing internationalization of higher education serving in senior international officer roles at several universities. Her long history of leadership for international education organizations includes serving as President of the Association for International Education Administrators (AIEA). In addition to AIEA’s Rutenber Award, which she received for her service and leadership, Klahr received two Fulbright Awards to her credit. She regularly publishes, presents at conferences, and serves as a consultant.
Originally from Germany, Klahr came to the U.S. as an international student. She earned a doctorate focused on international education leadership from Montana State University-Bozeman in 1998 after receiving her bachelors and masters degrees in botany from the University of Oklahoma, teacher certification from the University of Colorado Boulder, and working in outdoor and science education.
