Rachel Hendrix

Rachel Hendrix has been active in the area of international education for more than 19 years and serves as a regional leader with NAFSA: Association of International Educators and past chair for the Florida Association of International Educators. She currently is a board member with Gulf Coast Diplomacy, a community based member of the Global Ties network.

Rachel was a Fulbright award recipient in 2016, during which time she traveled to Japan to understand more about the Japanese educational system. In 2012, she was selected to participate in the Rotary Foundation's Group Study Exchange program in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, where she spent six weeks learning how vocations were practiced abroad. She has taught courses on intercultural business communication and has presented research on U.S. student mobility, cross-cultural competency and international student retention.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations, a master’s degree in strategic communication and leadership, and educational specialist degree in curriculum and instruction all from the University of West Florida. Her research focus is in the area of intercultural competency development.
