Philipp Reichert, EdD

Dr. Philipp Reichert is the Director of the Global Engagement Office at UBC’s Okanagan Campus and serves on the UBC Board of Governors. A scholar-practitioner in international education, he has extensive experience, working, living, and studying in Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, and the USA, specializing in the intersection of government policies, institutional strategies, and international student experiences. Philipp holds a Master’s in International Relations from Universiteit Leiden, a doctorate from the University of Calgary, and an RCIC designation in Canadian immigration law.

Beyond his roles at UBC, Philipp is a Senior Advisor for Learning and Development at CBIE, AIEA Board member, and holds advisory roles with Wayble and the Indo Canada Education Council (ICEC). During the pandemic, he co-chaired CBIE’s National Immigration Advisory Committee, providing critical leadership on immigration policy at a pivotal time for the sector. His contributions have been recognized with a number of awards, including the CBIE North Star Award, AIEA Harold Josephson Award, BDO Top 40 under 40, and the BCCIE Outstanding Program Award for UBC Okanagan’s Global Pathways initiative.
