Nick Oo
Although he has been traveling internationally since he was an infant, Nick’s career in International Education began during his time as an undergraduate student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst when he served as an Education Abroad Peer Advisor in the International Programs Office for three years. This experience was key in igniting his passion for the work and wanting to pursue a post-graduate career in this field. In addition to his prior work experience in the field as a student advisor, Nick's passion for International Education also stems from his experiences coming from a mixed background and being exposed to heritage and cultural exchange from an early age. Following his graduation, Nick lived and worked in London for three months during t he fall of 2022 serving as the Program Assistant for UMass's inaugural study abroad program for first-semester Freshman students. Upon his return from London, Nick started and is currently serving as the Education Abroad Administrative Coordinator, providing his ever-growing experience and support in many different facets, but with a particular motivation for increasing access and the visibility of study abroad opportunities to underrepresented students. He understands the importance and benefits of international experiences and strongly believes that everyone should have the opportunity to study, live, or work in another country for an extended period of time.
