Maria Leonor Alves Maia, PhD

Maria Leonor Alves Maia is the president of the Brazilian Association for International Education – FAUBAI and full professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Brazil. Since 2012 she has been active in the field of internationalization of Higher Education. From 2012-2020 she served as Dean for International Affairs at UFPE, being responsible for the implementation and management of international programs and activities which include study abroad and exchange programs; international students and scholar services, internationalization at home, and the implementation of Brazilian Virtual Exchange (BRAVE) program. Maria Leonor is a researcher of the Brazilian Scientific Agency CNPq and has participated actively in conferences around the world.
