Malaika Marable Serrano, PhD

Malaika Marable Serrano, PhD is the VP for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) at Guild and leads the integration of DEIB principles and best practices across the organization. Most recently, she was the inaugural Head of DEI at WorldStrides and has served in a number of leadership and faculty roles in academic and non-profit spaces. Her collaborative approach centers around prioritizing relationships and leveraging data analytics, to effectively impact organizational culture. 

Living abroad in Latin America and Australia greatly shaped her ability to foster productive, engaging, and culturally responsive learning environments. She finds joy in volunteering with women’s leadership groups, regularly presents at conferences, and has published numerous DEI-related articles and book chapters. Her educational background includes a B.A. from the University of Southern California, a M.A. from the University of Maryland, a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.
