Lisa Chieffo
Lisa Chieffo has managed education abroad programs at the University of Delaware (UD) since 1993 and currently serves as the interim director of UD's Institute for Global Studies. UD sends approximately 1,400 students abroad on nearly 100 programs annually, more than 60 of which are short-term faculty-led, and ranks among the top ten public research institutions in the percentage of students who study abroad. Chieffo co-edited with Catherine Spaeth NAFSA's third edition of "The Guide to Successful Short-Term Programs Abroad" and, also with Spaeth, co-led the working group to develop the Forum on Education Abroad's Guidelines for Good Business Partnerships. Chieffo has conducted research and published several articles on outcomes assessment of faculty-led, short-term programs and has presented sessions on various education abroad topics at many NAFSA and Forum conferences.
