Kelly Hughes
Kelly Hughes is the assistant director of the International Student and Scholar Office at Towson University in Maryland, and has over 15 years' experience in international higher education. After a bachelor's degree at Mount Holyoke College, she studied as a grad student at the University of Nottingham (UK), where she landed a temporary gig as a receptionist at their international office and discovered both an aptitude for administration and that employment could be had doing work that you believe in. As a designated school official (DSO), she enjoys playing Sherlock Holmes with student case histories, debating policy and hypothetical situations with her colleagues, and when students ask questions that require research. Outside of work, she can be found knitting, shape-note singing, or cuddling cats.
