Kate Jennings (she/her/hers) held progressive leadership roles in international education at five universities (Vancouver Island University, University of Alberta, Simon Fraser University, Queen’s University, University of Victoria) in three Provinces in Canada. In December 2021 Kate decided to step away from her Director ISS position at VIU to semi-retire and lean into her passions for supporting the ongoing professionalization of the international education sector. Through Jennings International Education Leadership & Training Kate works part-time with institutions and associations globally providing services in strategic planning, training for individuals and teams, as well as leadership coaching.

Throughout her career Kate has volunteered with international education focused associations and projects in Canada and globally, including with NAFSA. She served in the Chair-stream for the IEL-KC, as Co-chair for the Canada MIG, as a network leader for the IEL-KC. She is also part of the NAFSA Trainer Corp and continues to present sessions and workshops at NAFSA conferences and events. In 2024, Kate was a recipient of the Outstanding Service Award from NAFSA region 1 and was also listed in The PIE’s 50 voices North American edition for the second year. In 2021 she was awarded the British Columbia Council for International Education (BCCIE) International Education Distinguished Leadership Award.

Kate identifies as a person with disabilities and is an advocate for creating inclusive programs, services, and communities of practice for students, staff, and faculty.
