Karen McBride, EdD
Karen McBride has been working in international education for 15 years, having worked for two third party provider organizations, an Italian institute for higher education, a large public university and a mid-sized private university. Most recently, Karen has worked for the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio as their director for education abroad and partnerships, then as an international partnerships manager for the UD School of Law. Karen is a returned Peace Corps volunteer (Antigua, West Indies) and a Fulbright Specialist (Bangkok, Thailand). She serves as the past chair of the Education Abroad Knowledge Community with NAFSA. Her degrees are in archaeological studies (BA, University of Texas), Irish studies (MA, Queens University of Belfast), and educational policy and administration for international educators (EdD, University of Minnesota). Her research interests include ethical international programming, non-western perspectives on international education, and intercultural competency.
