Kalpen Trivedi, PhD
Kalpen Trivedi, PhD, is vice provost for global affairs at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is responsible for campus-wide global engagement and exercises operational and strategic oversight of the International Programs Office. He has more than eighteen years of experience in international education with expertise in global partnerships, program design and evaluation, global operations and risk management, and international health and safety. Trivedi is a regular contributor in forums such as NAFSA, AIEA, and the Forum on Education Abroad. Recognized as an AIEA Presidential Fellow for 2019-20, Trivedi had roles in the Chair stream for NAFSA’s International Education Leadership Knowledge Community (IEL KC), and is a member of the Trainer Corps. He is a member of the Governance and Standards Committee of the US Department of State’s Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), having previously served as Vice-Chair of OSAC’s Academia Sector Committee. Trivedi was educated in India and the U.K., and he has a doctorate in medieval English literature.
