Jessica Gonzalez
Jessica Gonzalez is an International Employment and Immigration Specialist in UWM's Center for International Education (CIE) with a focus on J-1 scholars’ immigration needs, community engagement, and immersion in the U.S. Jessica has a passion for working with people and promoting equity and inclusion in all settings. She has a BA in English from UW-Parkside and Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at UW-Milwaukee. Additionally, she has a background in ELL, multilingual/multicultural education (Spanish), sociology, and anthropology. Jessica was an educator prior to joining CIE and actively volunteers with a variety of community organizations and is a strong advocate for Spanish speaking families within and outside those organizations. She and her family love to travel throughout the year, visit family in Mexico, and plan road trips. She has traveled to more than 35 US states and 14 countries around the world for study, non-profits, and leisure, embracing the journey as much as the destination.
