Emily Boerman

Emily Boerman, Ph.D., M.S.W. is the director of International Student Services at Louisiana State University. She has worked in the international education field for 15 years recruiting international students, F-1 and J-1 immigration advising, and teaching Leadership at Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan. She has served as NAFSA Region V conference planner and has held multiple roles in the Michigan Association of International Educators (MAIE).

Emily received her B.A. in Spanish and Sociology at Alma College, M.S.W. at University of Michigan Ann Arbor, and her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Eastern Michigan University. Her interest in international education began when she worked as a student with international students and scholars at the University of Michigan. Emily enjoys traveling, spending time at Lake Michigan, and playing with her dog, Nick.
