Chamu Gowrishankar

Chamu Gowrishankar is the Assistant Director at the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS). Chamu’s responsibilities include overseeing OISS daily operations; advising and immigration services for students, scholars, staff, and WSU departments regarding federal regulations (F-1, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1 and employment-based permanent residence); ensuring Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) compliance; conducting workshops and training on immigration regulations and cross-cultural issues for WSU campus community. Chamu is also actively involved with NAFSA  Region V most recently serving as Chair in 2022 and has presented and chaired numerous workshops and sessions at the State, Regional, and National conferences.
