Volunteering at NAFSA 2020
More than 200 volunteers are needed each year to help make the NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo a success. Volunteering is a great way to network while getting a behind-the-scenes look at the conference and potentially earning a conference discount. Volunteering is open to all conference attendees. Volunteers assist and support the following key areas of the conference.
- Bookstore and publication sales
- Career Center
- Conference Information and Hospitality Center
- NAFSA Pavilion
- On-site registration
- Sessions Aids/Monitors
- Special Events
- Workshops registration and information
- And more
Based on documented hours worked, volunteers may be reimbursed 50-100 percent of the general conference registration fee paid.
How to Volunteer
In order to have access to volunteer shifts, you first need to sign-up with Shiftboard, NAFSA’s online scheduler. Volunteer shifts will open on March 23rd at noon.
Shiftboard allows each volunteer to pick up and drop shifts and simplifies the communication between volunteers and team leaders. Once you submit your information in Shiftboard, you will receive an e-mail asking you to click on a link to complete your enrollment. You will then receive a welcome e-mail from us with your login and password information. You can then sign in to Shiftboard to access your account and begin scheduling. Be sure to view the home page for helpful tips on customizing your account, password, calendar, etc.
