Management Development Program participants entered day two . P reconference Core Education Program Workshops, such as Maximizing Funding for Education Abroad, F-1 Student Advising, and J-1 Regulations for beginners and advanced professionals, got underway, preparing attendees to take on more responsibilities with confidence.
Many attended the screening of Papers, a commanding documentary profiling five undocumented immigrant students in the United States and the challenges of turning 18 without legal status. As high school comes to an end, the students find themselves unable to obtain legal permission to work, obtain a driver's license, or start on a path toward citizenship. The students, who had been raised and educated for most of their lives in the United States, face deportation to countries they do not remember and an end to their dreams of attending college in the country they consider home.
