What is happening?
iMIS is NAFSA's association management software that drives essential association functions, including membership management, conference programming processes, event registration, e-commerce, our training platform, our elections system, and more. NAFSA is transitioning from its existing version of iMIS to iMIS AMS, a newer cloud-based version, which will improve the user experience. This transition will necessitate a “blackout period” from 12:00 p.m. EDT on July 27 through August 7, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. EDT during which all systems that require a NAFSA login (MyNAFSA, the NAFSA SHOP, Network NAFSA, NAFSA Learning and Training programs, and NAFSA's Adviser's Manual 360) will be offline and unavailable. Your patience during this important transition is greatly appreciated.
Why is NAFSA undergoing this transition?
NAFSA, as an association that revolves around learning, is committed to prioritizing innovation and investing in appropriate technology to meet the evolving needs of our staff, members, and the field. The transition to the cloud-based version of iMIS will provide users with a modernized system that has greater functionality and improved performance.
Why now?
NAFSA’s leadership considered its options carefully and determined that a mid-summer blackout would be the least disruptive to staff and the performance of NAFSA’s business operations.
