Six Institutions Profiled for Outstanding Campus Internationalization

Four U.S. higher education institutions have been awarded the 2007 Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization and are featured in a major report published by NAFSA: Association of International Educators titled Internationalizing the Campus 2007: Profiles of Success at Colleges and Universities. Two other exemplary programs are also highlighted in the report in shorter spotlights.

Four institutions, profiled in depth, received the 2007 Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization:
  • Calvin College in Michigan
  • Elon University in North Carolina
  • Georgia Institute of Technology
  • The University of Oklahoma
Two schools are highlighted for exemplary programs:
  • Shoreline Community College in Washington
  • Valparaiso University in Indiana
A distinguished selection jury decided which schools from a strong and diverse set of nominees would be chosen for the award and inclusion in the 2007 report. The members of the selection jury were:
  • Stephen Dunnett (jury chair), vice provost for international education, University of Buffalo-SUNY
  • Jon Booth, deputy director, division of international programs abroad, Syracuse University
  • Linda Melville, international advisement specialist, University of New Mexico
