Ray Suarez Moderates Panel Exploring Global Talent Flows at NAFSA Conference

The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, will examine the implications of "brain drain" and "brain gain" and analyze the political economy of the global exchange of skilled, highly educated workers. Prominent academics, international activists, and thought leaders will offer their insights on how international educators are affected as they work on the front lines of the international flow of talent and ideas. The panel begins at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 27 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Early arrival is strongly advised for reporters interested in covering this event.
The distinguished group of panelists includes Duke University researcher and technology pioneer Vivek Wadhwa; AnnaLee Saxenian, dean of the University California-Berkeley School of Information; Demetrios Papademetriou, president and co-founder of the Migration Policy Institute; and Luis Guarnizo, chair of the community studies and development program at the University of California-Davis.
NAFSA's annual conference is the world's largest gathering of professionals in international educational exchange. More than 7,000 participants from 100 countries are expected this year. The conference runs through Friday, May 29.

The NAFSA Press Pass includes admission to the NAFSA Conference and Expo between Tuesday, May 26, and Friday, May 29, for the plenary speeches, the opening and closing celebrations, the International Education Expo, and the concurrent sessions. In many session and seminar rooms, seating is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. No reserved seating for news media will be available, and prompt arrival is advised.
