NAFSA Launches New and Improved Web site
International educators will find new features and services, enhanced design, and superior navigation
WASHINGTON, September 26, 2005 - NAFSA: Association of International Educators is pleased to announce the launch today of its new Web site. The NAFSA site, located at www.nafsa.org, features easier navigation, a powerful search engine, multiple document libraries, 13 professional member networks, and a new look and enhanced design that will allow users to quickly find the information and services they need.
“NAFSA’s Web site is a global meeting place for international educators,” said Bob Stableski, NAFSA’s deputy executive director for professional development services. “The new site offers the latest in online services, resources, and tools for international educators who look to NAFSA as a source of authoritative information and perspectives on international education and exchange.”
With more than 9,000 members, NAFSA: Association of International Educators is the world’s largest nonprofit association dedicated to international education. NAFSA seeks to increase awareness of and support for international education and exchange in higher education, government, and the community, believing that citizens with international experience and global awareness are crucial to U.S. leadership, competitiveness, and security.
The NAFSA Web site’s new navigation system guides users through the site with clear labels and content organization. An easy-to-use, high-powered search engine provides quick searches for information on the site. NAFSA has also added Professional Networks, with information customized for five new knowledge communities for members, focused on specific aspects of international education and exchange. Each of the 13 networks provides customized resources and relevant events and training opportunities. The document library is a compilation of links to documents from NAFSA and other sources that gets information quickly into the hands of researchers and other users.
The comprehensive Web site redesign project was based on extensive feedback from NAFSA members. The performance of the redesigned site was tested in 18 focus groups. Siteworx, a Web site technology and design firm in Reston, Va., helped NAFSA’s Web team implement the new design.
