NAFSA Announces New Board Member
WASHINGTON, July 15, 2008 – NAFSA: Association of International Educators today announced that Francisco Marmolejo, executive director of the Consortium of North American Higher Education Collaboration (CONAHEC), has joined its board of directors. The NAFSA board elected Marmolejo to fill the board seat left vacant at the passing of Bob Brennan.
Francisco Marmolejo is a leader, administrator, and scholar in the field of international education. In 1995, he founded the Consortium for North American Higher Education Collaboration at the University of Arizona, and he currently serves as the university’s assistant vice president for Western Hemisphere Programs. He has held leadership and academic positions at a number of institutions in Mexico, including the Universidad de las Américas, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí. He currently serves on the advisory boards of a number of institutions and professional organizations in the United States and Mexico, including the American Council on Education’s Commission on International Initiatives, and has been active within the leadership of NAFSA’s Region II.
