This network serves those interested in intercultural learning theory, cross-cultural counseling/advising theory, and intercultural training techniques.

Internationalizing the Curriculum & Campus Network

Internationalizing the Curriculum
This network serves professionals interested in best practices for implementing internationalization initiatives across the campus and curriculum, internationalizing faculty development, and translating related research into practice.

Teaching, Learning and Scholarship Knowledge Community (TLS-KC) Vision

The TLS-KC is a cross-cutting knowledge community in NAFSA and serves the entire spectrum of international educators and their institutions and organizations around the globe by providing information about, access to, and frameworks for linking relevant theory and research to their various practice areas.


TLS Mission Statement

The TLS-KC is a group of NAFSA members working globally to connect international educators with resources that will broaden and deepen their knowledge base and assist them in their daily work. The TLS-KC serves international educators by:
  • Promoting theory-to-practice by identifying and making accessible in a user-friendly manner new and existing theoretical and empirical knowledge that constructively impacts practice
  • Identifying and promoting cutting-edge theory and research in conference sessions, workshops and on the Web
  • Providing leadership for promoting the development of knowledge needed by international education leaders
  • Facilitating active dialogue between scholars and administrators by engaging NAFSA members in the cross-fertilization between theory, research, and practice
  • Understanding member needs related to TLS
  • Promoting internationalization and intercultural learning as an essential component of higher education
