This webinar addressed diversification of study abroad programs available to students and student flows to non-traditional areas. It also addressed the importance of diversification, some of the perceived barriers, current data from institutions, their program portfolio, and best practices with regards to short and long-term strategies for increasing diversification.

Anthony Ogden
The Pennsylvania State University
Anthony Ogden earned his bachelor's degree from Berea College and then later studied at the School for International Training (SIT) where he earned his master's degree in International and Intercultural Management (MIIM). Anthony has traveled extensively and worked in several countries, including Japan, Vietnam, and Cameroon. Anthony is a an active trainer and presenter on the Contrast Culture Training Method (CCM) and is a Intercultural Training Consultant for Cendant Intercultural, having lead corporate programs for organizations including Corning, General Electric, Microsoft, Hershey Co., Vodaphone, and Westinghouse. Anthony is the Associate Director for the Education Abroad (EA) office at The Pennsylvania State University, where he oversees nearly 1900 students studying abroad annually on 164 programs in 46 countries. He is not only an active member of NAFSA, but also of the Forum on Education Abroad.
Heidi Soneson
University of Minnesota
Dr. Heidi Soneson has been Program Director in the Learning Abroad at the University of Minnesota since 1991. In this position, she manages a variety of programs including the Learning Abroad Center's programs in France, Senegal, Kenya, Ecuador and India. Dr. Soneson has studied and worked in England, Germany, Kenya and Ghana and has done research on early German travel writers to Africa. Dr. Soneson served on the national NAFSA study abroad team and has published and presented on underrepresented disciplines in study abroad.
Paige Weting
Indiana University
Paige Weting is the Assistant Director for the Office of Overseas Study at Indiana University, where she assists 1800+ students a year in their education abroad experiences. Paige is a graduate of the School for International Training, having completed 2 years of study in Japan and work in Thailand. She also participated on a short-term study abroad program in Russia and the Baltic Nations. Paige is an active member of NAFSA and has presented at a number of NAFSA regional and national conferences. She is also an active member in the Forum on Education Abroad. Paige is a member of the advisory boards for Arcadia University's Center for Education Abroad, Institute for Study Abroad - Butler University and University of Wisconsin Platteville.
