Preparing undergraduates for successful lives and careers today involves developing their global competence. To do this, universities must go beyond study abroad to include elements such as international internships and research, language proficiency, and global knowledge. In this webinar, the international education leaders at three universities discuss global competence and describe their models for developing global competence in undergraduates.

The learning objectives for this webinar are:
  1. Be able to list and describe the salient characteristics of three aspects of global competence.

  2. Be able to describe at least two strategies other than traditional study abroad for achieving global competence.

Audience

This Webinar Wednesday will stimulate the thinking of those who are tasked with developing creative ideas for study abroad. In particular, it will be useful for those involved with policy, planning and strategy for internationalization within universities.
