March 1, 2009Many international educators are interested in expanding their skill portfolio in the area of cross-cultural training. This webinar will focus on the basic design and facilitation of cross-cultural communication presentations with particular attention to the beginning trainer. Presenters will discuss some principles of workshop design and appropriate learning activities for a variety of audiences including university staff, faculty, students and community volunteers.
Presenters
Marian Beane & Judy Case are associated with the Office of International Programs at UNC Charlotte where they are integrally involved in admin- istrative and program activity with and for international students and scholars. Marian is Director of the International Student/ Scholar Office and Judy is Director of Administration for the Office of International Programs.
Marian and Judy have presented workshops and training seminars on cross-cultural communication and understanding for a variety of audiences over the past 25 years. Participants have included NAFSAns and other educators, University staff and students, business personnel and community volunteers.
Learning Objective
Participants should be able to design and facilitate a basic cross-cultural presentation for a campus or community group.
