The 2024 Bi-Regional I and II Conference will take place in Vancouver, Canada. Learn, network, and engage with IE professionals dedicated to advancing the field of international education at the Bi-Regional I and II Conference! Build lasting partnerships with peers and institutions from across the region and around the world.

Presenting at a regional is a fantastic way to share your expertise, collaborate, and connect with fellow international education professionals. We encourage all international educators to submit a proposal and foster the exchange of ideas within your knowledge community at a local level. NAFSA regional conferences will take place October through November 2024 at nine locations across North America.

  • June 12th - Expo Portal Open
  • June 20th - Proposal Deadline - no extensions! 
  • July 23rd -  Registration Opens
  • Late August - Online Planner Goes Live!
  • September 8th - Travel Grant Applications Due
  • September 13th - Guaranteed Hotel Rate Ends
  • October 6th - Preconference Workshops
  • October 7th - First Day of the Conference

 

Call for Proposals

Key Dates: 
  • Proposal Deadline: June 20th 
  • Early Submission Raffle: Submit by May 26th to enter a raffle for a complimentary registration
Submission Types: 
  1. Sessions
    1. Duration: 50 or 75 minutes
    2. Format: Presentations that deliver guidance, best practices, solutions, and ideas to current topics and events facing the international education community. 
    3. Important Note: Please indicate the preferred session length (50 or 75 minutes) in your proposal description. 
  2. Open Meetings
    1. Format: Discussion-based gatherings focusing on designated topics, themes, and issues; they are facilitated rather than presented or trained. 
    2. Note: Ideal for MIG/SIG/Interest Groups
  3. Current Topics Workshops
    1. Duration: 4 hours or 8 hours
    2. Format: Timely and engaging trainings that use a participant-focused, highly interactive approach to present in-depth information and focus on developing or deepening professional skills in a specific area. 
    3. Note: Workshop proposals should not duplicate existing NAFSA CEP Workshops.

All attendees are encouraged to make plans to stay at the conference hotel. Booking this way will help the Region meet its financial commitments to the hotel, plus it has the convenience of only being an elevator ride away from the sessions!
