NAFSA's Leadership

Mariam Assefa and Diana CarlinHundreds of NAFSA members volunteer each year to serve the association to create and disseminate knowledge, to influence international education policy, and to maintain a strong organization. They serve on a variety of committees, teams, and task forces; as well as in all five knowledge communities.




Board of Directors

NAFSA's leadership structure is lead by a Board of Directors (six officers and 12 members). The Board guides the association through its Strategic Plan that sets out goals and objectives over a three-year horizon. Senior Staff

NAFSA's senior staff can provide expert commentary and perspectives on international education and exchange, as well as a wide range of other domestic and international issues. Read more in the Press Room.


Subcommittee Charges

Each subcommittee, established by the revised Standing Rules, is assigned specific outcomes to carry out by the knowledge community or committee to whom they report. Read the charges of current subcommittees
