L.A. PIER provides an opportunity to connect with colleagues outside of official NAFSA gatherings. It focuses on a variety of F-1 and J-1 student issues and is open to anyone (NAFSA membership not required to participate) who works with, or hopes to work with, F-1 or J-1 students. So whether you are a student starting out in the field, an “old-timer” who loves to connect with peers and colleagues, or somewhere in between, these meetings are for you!

We typically meet four times each year at different campus locations around and within Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino Counties. Participation is free, but participants are responsible for their own transportation, parking fees (if applicable), and meals. RSVPs are requested for planning purposes. Topics of general and timely interest are solicited from those who are attending. Hot topics, immigration updates, and group discussions are a regular part of the agenda.

Please apply to join the LA PIER listserv in order to learn about upcoming meetings and be able to receive and send emails. Please note that LA PIER does not have an online forum – all communication is conducted by email via a listserv.
